I Guess It's Just The Penalty Of Leadership

To those not under a rock (No Rocafella), I'm sure you're familiar with the whole Louis "Skip" Gates fiasco with Cambridge, MA police officers that landed him in cuffs and arrested. In summary, older Black guy didn't have the keys to his home upon returning and was seen by a neighbor as trying to jimmy the door open. Police were called. In the process of questioning him (once he was already inside of HIS home), frustration and temper resulted in him saying that the officer(s) were profiling him because of his color. The police said Gates, who walks with a cane, obviously presented a threat to them and upon stepping onto his porch was arrested for disorderly conduct.

**Note: I'm on my AfricanAmerican Berry so I can't add the links, but you get the jist of it**

Given the circumstances, I'm almost certain that "cooler heads" would have prevented this incident in becoming the news fiasco it was a couple of weeks ago. But oh well...it is what it is.

However, I think it's a damn shame that the President Of The United States Of America has entertained this mess. Both men basically acted as if they were in their own right for acting as they did. After having a brew and shyt at the White House, they still agree to disagree. Basically, no progress was made.

With all that said, I find it very disheartening that Black folks are STILL bending over backwards to kiss certain people's asses (or appease to them). When it's all said and done, we still live in a nation where racist ideologies have been passed down from centuries and there's really no changing that unless you intercept those thoughts before they infest the minds of the children (Even with that, the cynic in me says that's impossible).

To see the President of the nation feeling like he needs to take time out of whatever presidential duties to host a beer party between two men who represent two different walks of life - the racist, entitled white man of authority and the belligerent black man who has been pre-judged, is like damn.

I guess as a President in a nation where there are so many racists, you gotta sit down and talk to them too, huh?

Penalty of leadership.

Saw this this morning on one of my facebook friends statuses:

"Men = Confusion"

Oh yeah, he's gay, by the way...NotThatThere'sAnythingWrongWithThat.

I consider him lucky he don't like women. Talk about confusion.

***SideNote: I love sentences that use the same word in a succedent order like "Saw this this morning...". Yeah, that's dope. EndSideNote***
